5-Day Itinerary: Atlas to Desert
Depart from your Marrakech hotel crossing the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m). Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou kasbah (Gladiator, Game of Thrones). Overnight in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco.”
Drive through the Valley of Roses and Dades Valley, then explore Todra Gorges’ dramatic canyons. Continue to Merzouga, where the desert awaits. Overnight in a desert lodge.
Morning free. Late afternoon camel trek across Erg Chebbi dunes (1h30). Watch sunset from the highest dune. Stay overnight in a premium desert camp with Berber music, drumming, and a starry sky.
Wake to desert sunrise, camel ride back. Visit Rissani’s traditional souk, then drive through the lush Draa Valley (thousands of palm trees). Overnight in Ouarzazate.
